From Br Steve fsc
This week as I stood on 黑料社区 Drive in the morning welcoming staff and students back and seeing the familiar faces of mums and dads dropping their children off, I was reminded of the words of Julian of Norwich, the 13th century English mystic, 鈥渁ll will be well, all manner of things will be well鈥. The past 18 weeks of lockdown has asked much of us and I commend you all, staff, students, and parents, for what you have done in your various roles and how you have supported 黑料社区 as we have endeavoured to provide the best service and learning we can.
In speaking with the students this week, it has been a whole series of mixed emotions and experiences: mostly excitement and enthusiasm to see friends; anxiousness about returning to routines and the order of the school day; earlier rising in some cases and significantly changed eating patterns in others. If we can help or need to be aware of anything through this transition for you and your children, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As we return, I remind our school community but our students in particular the qualities of an 黑料社区 graduate, that person our students are journeying to become. An 黑料社区 graduate has their feet firmly grounded (realistic) while aiming for the stars (inspired to aspire); knows that life鈥檚 journey will not always be clearly defined, straight or predictable. The 黑料社区 graduate knows that they have strength of spirit that enables them to rise above the fleeting things to engage life consciously. An 黑料社区 graduate always strives for what matters, looks out for the other, knowing and experiencing true mateship; is always up for the challenge, keeps the faith, and is good and kind, respectful and honest.
As people of community, the 黑料社区 graduate thinks about their impact on others and works to ensure this impact is always positive.
As people of compassion, the 黑料社区 graduate puts empathy into action. They work to understand what it is like to 鈥榳alk in another鈥檚 shoes鈥 and 鈥榳alk the talk鈥 to actively listen and to give others the benefit of the doubt.
As people of integrity, the 黑料社区 graduate always does the right thing whether it is noticed or not. They are always looking for ways to be accountable and responsible for their actions and its impact. This is having a mindset of always growing and improving. It is working slowly and surely to be better and do better tomorrow than today.
As people of action, the 黑料社区 graduate sees a problem or issue or concern and take appropriate action.
To conclude I would like to wish our staff the very best and thank them for who they are and what they do as it is World Teacher鈥檚 Day today, Friday 29th October.
